Having drawn with charcoal on pastel paper I can only say that you have been successful in achieving the impression of drawing and that besides this accomplishment, have also created a sense of nostalgia and memory. Each image is thoughtfully composed. They give me pause.

John in fact I did see it, and your exhibit was wonderful! I walked around and thought now wait a minute, is this fine art or journalism, and where does that distinction come into play in these times. I have a lot to say about this, but I should email you soon. I liked being asked that, to see the personal portrait and an interview together as both news and portraiture.

You portraits were fabulous, gave so much incite, and the stories them selves were haunting. I love quiet, honest, human and deeply moving. I admit though that I started the story with the mother and son who had a cancer in his leg, and i stopped. I was offended or anything silly like that, I just planned to go back when I could hear the whole thing alone, and didn't make it back. I hope to hear that one day.

I hope you work together again. Thanks for your kind words.

Vivienne:

I really enjoy your landscape phototgraphy. I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of camera and lense you use for them. I, along with Heidi Holtan, had an exhibit in bemidji. Hope you had a chance to see it.

Thanks,

Joh

Beautiful pictures. Last Christmas I was in the South Hampton area in the U.K. and I absolutely loved the scenary. I could drive for hours in the small county roads full of small hills and green pastures. It was truly an unexpected surprise that I want to repeat soon.
